Przewalski horses

This stout little horse has long, straight standy-up ears - so be careful what you say! No comments please on the rather large head for a smallish body.

Check out their coats when you call by - if it's lighter, thicker and longer than usual you'll know winter is approaching.

Although from the Mongolian Steppes, the name 'przewalksi' dates from N.M. Przewalski, a Russian explorer!

Grassland natives, naturally the eat grass, but also fruits and leaves - oh, and they love buds!
