Meet Zara and Trigger

Lucky you! The only other place in the UK you’ll find Damara Zebra is at Colchester Zoo. We’ve formed a co-operative breeding programme with Colchester, this will result in healthy blood lines and socially appropriate groups.

In humans it’s fingerprints, in zebras stripes. Each set of zebra stripes is unique. Damara zebras are the only plains zebra to also have shadow striping – thinner paler stripes alongside the main stripe.
