The Siamang is the largest and loudest of the gibbons. With black fur and reddish-brown eyebrows, it is the only member of the gibbon family to have webbing between the second and third toe.

In the Valley of the Apes (and up to two miles away!) you’ll hear Steve and Lisa’s ‘song’ - a scream that rises in pitch to a huge boom, which comes from a sound-amplifying throat sac, which is almost as lare as their heads. Siamangs use their  combined ‘song’ to display territory and develop bonds.
